Appointments during pandemic restrictions
Although covid restrictions remain in place at present - we are now offering both face to face appointments or telephone consultations. Please contact us by telephone if you need to make an apppointment.. Our admin team will ask you for a brief description of your problem so that she can direct you to the most appropriate Clinician whether it is a GP, Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Physio etc. Please be mindful that our appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals.
If you have more than one problem to deal with that is likely to take you over your 10 minutes, you should come back for a further appointment another time.
Please observe 2 metre distance, wear a face covering, attend your appointment alone unless you need assistance. Do not enter the building with Covid 19 symtoms or if waiting on the results of a Covid test. You could pass the virus to a vulnerable patient.
Making An Appointment
We do not provide a walk in service, you should telephone the surgery if you require an appointment
You can book a routine appointment up to 1 month in advance. We also run a same day appointment system for patients who wish to telephone 1st thing in the morning for an appointment that day. These are not urgent appointments.
We try to see patients as soon as possible. If you have a problem that cannot wait and you are having difficulty getting an appointment, please give the receptionist a brief idea of your problem so that we can decide who is best to see you and when. If you are given an emergency appointment please be aware that the GP will treat you for your urgent medical condition only and any other on-going medical problems will have to be dealt with in a routine appointment.
Evening Surgery (Not available at present)
We offer a limited number of late appointments up to 8pm for patients who find it difficult to attend during their working day. These appointments are not suitable for children.
If you are unable to keep your appointment
It is much appreciated when patients contact us to cancel an appointment they no longer require. We currently have around 120 appointments per month that patients do not attend and have not cancelled.
DNA (Did Not Attend) Policy
Patients who DNA (do not attend) twice in succession will receive a letter from their GP. This letter sets out the practice policy on DNA and will inform the patient that they may lose their registration with the practice should they continue to DNA. A full copy of this policy is displayed in the waiting area.
