Caring Under Pressure

It has been just over a year since we introduced the eConsult system to the practice and in that 12 months we have received over 30,000 forms from patients. Each form is reviewed by a GP on the day it is received and actioned by offering advice and treatment, arranging an appointment or referring onto another speciality.
This work goes alongside managing acute complex patients, chronic disease managment and dealing with hundreds of results and clinic letters the practice receives each week.
We are sorry that the waiting list to be reviewed by a GP is longer than we would like. You will have no doubt have seen in the media the national GP funding crisis which has meant that we can't provide the service we would like to be able to provide. This is not a situation that any of us want to be in.
Please be reassured that the whole team is working harder than it ever has to try to manage this work load and we expect the demand for all services to increase in the future. We understand the frustrations of patients and will continue to offer the best service we can under very challenging conditions.
